Photography is the art of reproducing photos of folk, objects or places in their actual likeness. These pictures can be transferred on any photosensitive material. The spine of photography is the camera, the instrument or device that works on the theory of optics.
The camera and photographic methodologies have experienced phenomenal changes since the time the 1st camera was made.
The earlier model didn’t contain the film; instead, it was regarded as having a tiny light-shield box with lens and see though screen on each side. The image that traveled thru the lens was stored on the screen. Known as ‘camera obscura,’ it was less than a sketching device for artists. Then the scientists discovered the standard of silver nitrate that changes its color when exposed to light.
This was the start of photogram, a technique of making permanent photographs. They might place objects on the paper dipped in silver nitrate and show it to the daylight. After sometime the area covered under the object stayed white while the remainder of the space turned black. The image formed was short lived, so that the system didn’t last long. Over the centuries, the beliefs, the technique and the material utilized in photography went thru many changes.
After fiddling with many techniques like Daguerre and collotype process, ultimately collodion, or the wet plate technique was commonly accepted. Modern photography has given a fully new meaning to the whole perception of life and privacy. Photography has given the chance to capture and preserve special moments, in personal and in public life. History became more authentic with footage, and pictures served as proof in several cases. With the incredible technical advances in the art of photography, it’s no more than just fun and frolic but has bought the dimensions of a full fledged profession. – Aerial photography is the art of taking pictures from the air. – Art photography is devoted to attractive photos for the sake of beauty only. – Studio or advertising photography is devoted to promotion of products and establishments.
Photojournalism takes footage of events to support the news story and to make awareness among the people. – Out of doors and travel photography is concentrated on taking photos of landscapes and natural places. – Sports photography records pictures of the sports occasions and games that happen in the world.
Some kinds of photography like the macro and systematic; and macro or close up photography are limited to express fields and are not generally known. The charm of photography lies as much in the final analysis product as in the midst of taking photographs. Having a look at an album is like taking a trip down memory lane; it makes us feel highly mawkish and emotional.
